Therapeutic Child Care Grant (Building Blocks for Success Pilot)

A pilot program focused on implementing trauma-informed care practices and therapeutic approaches in early childhood settings. The initiative combines professional development in trauma-informed practices with ongoing coaching and support.

Geographic Scope: Five selected Preschool Promise partner sites in Dayton and Montgomery County, Ohio

• Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS)
• Tier One Services
• Classroom quality improvement

Eligibility:

• Selected Preschool Promise partner provider sites (5 sites chosen for pilot)

What is Provided:

• Professional development cohort meetings
• Copy of "What Happened to You?" by Dr. Bruce Perry and Oprah Winfrey
• Monthly cohort meetings
• Coaching from MTSS team
• Support from Conscious Discipline Coach
• Training for teachers and administrators
• Resources for implementing trauma-informed practices

Program Components:

• Monthly professional development cohort meetings (facilitated by Montgomery County Educational Service Center)
• Classroom-based coaching
• Focus on integrating trauma-informed care into site's Tier One Services
• Teacher training on evidence-based techniques
