The Kathleen Morrissey Klutey Memorial Scholarship Fund The Kathleen Morrissey Klutey Scholarship supports graduating seniors from Lenoir County public high schools who plan to enroll in a four-year college or university. Recipients are selected based on exceptional academic performance within a rigorous course load, meaningful involvement in extracurricular activities such as athletics or the arts, and demonstrated achievement and leadership in those activities. While financial need is not required, it may be considered. Applicants must submit an additional essay describing how they have taken advantage of Advanced Placement or other advanced coursework opportunities and detailing their leadership and accomplishments in their primary extracurricular pursuits. Established in honor of longtime South Lenoir High School guidance counselor Kathleen Klutey, the scholarship reflects her lifelong dedication to encouraging students to pursue academic excellence, broaden their educational horizons, and strive for success beyond high school.
