Overview

NOTE: Non-United Methodist organization will need to provide a letter of support from a United Methodist Church with its application. Purpose The Kentucky Annual Conference established The Eastern Kentucky Health, Education and Welfare Fund in 2005. The primary focus of the endowment is to provide funding for healthcare issues in Eastern Kentucky. Funding The Kentucky Conference will disburse earnings from the fund in the following manner: $60,993 to assist local churches in the healthcare payments of clergy that participate in the conference healthcare plan. The clergyperson's base salary cannot be greater than $50,000 for the church to receive consideration for funding.$91,491 is available to assist ministerial education for clergyperson's in Eastern Kentucky. The Conference Board of Ordained Ministry provides a process for application for these funds.$91,491 will be available to provide for ministries in Eastern Kentucky. Applications are welcome from United Methodist and non-United Methodist organizations. However, a non-United Methodist organization will need to provide a letter of support from a United Methodist Church with its application. The Kentucky Conference considers Eastern Kentucky to be those counties that fall entirely south of I-64 and east of I-75.
