A hands-on, professional development program for teachers to participate in valuable scientific research and translate field experience into classroom instruction.

Background: Earthwatch grants over $500,000 per year in fellowships through highly competitive, need-based application process to students and teachers who would not otherwise have ability to participate. For many teacher fellows, their Earthwatch expedition is the first time they have received hands-on training in science education in many years, if ever.
