Take Note! Antonia Brancia Memorial Scholarship Grant

The Take Note! Antonia Brancia Memorial Scholarship, established in 2007, honors the legacy of Antonia Brancia, a dedicated pediatric audiologist and music lover. Offered by the Community Foundation of Eastern Connecticut, this scholarship supports students from multiple towns who actively participate in music and pursue post-secondary studies in related fields. With an approximate award of $1,000, it aims to foster future talent in music education and performance.

Since 1983, the Community Foundation has awarded over $11.9 million in scholarships from 136 funds established by generous individuals, families, businesses and nonprofits to help area students pursue an education and establish rewarding careers.
Established in memory of charter member Antonia Brancia by other members of Take Note!, an eastern Connecticut nonprofit a cappella ensemble that exclusively performs benefit concerts for other nonprofits, free of charge. Toni was a warm and caring person, and an internationally renowned pediatric audiologist whose life was tragically cut short in 2007. Music played a vital role in Toni's life, and she especially loved making music with her Take Note! family.

Eligibility

For students from Ashford, Brooklyn, Canterbury, Chaplin, Columbia, Coventry, Eastford, Hampton, Killingly, Lebanon, Mansfield, Plainfield, Pomfret, Putnam, Scotland, Stafford, Sterling, Thompson, Union, Willington, Windham/Willimantic and Woodstock who demonstrate a history of active participation in music, are in good academic standing, and are pursuing post-secondary studies in music, music performance, music theory or music education at an accredited educational institution.
