Scholarships Grand Haven Area Community Foundation scholarships are awarded competitively based on criteria set by donors. Once your application is submitted, you will be eligible for all those for which you meet the requirement. Susan Shattuck Scholarship for Future Nurses Susan Shattuck, MS, RN, CS-BC, NP, followed her lifelong dream to be a nurse and made sure the underserved and the marginalized receive the highest standards of nursing care. In that spirit, Sue started the Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner Program through Center for Women in Transition (now Resilience: Advocates for Ending Violence) in 2001. Sue's work in this field made her one of the State's top experts in medical forensic sexual assault examination and care of survivors. This scholarship passes the torch to a student who wishes to pursue a career in nursing.Eligibility

Interest Area: Medicine Financial Need: PriorityHigh School Senior Only: YesCriteria/Description: Awarded to a Tri-Cities area high school senior who will be attending a four-year public or private college or university within the state of Michigan and is planning to receive a baccalaureate degree and career in nursing. The ideal recipient will have a demonstrated passion for nursing and helping the underserved. It is intended to support students from middle income families.
