Superior Health Foundation: Equipment Grants

The Superior Health Foundation's Equipment Grants aim to enhance health and well-being across the Upper Peninsula by funding essential health-related equipment. Organizations can apply for grants to purchase durable equipment that addresses community health needs, improves access, and supports program expansion. The selection process considers factors such as the number of beneficiaries and the project's sustainability. This initiative encourages collaboration among local entities to foster healthier communities and improve the quality of life for all residents.

Equipment Fund Grants Policy
Purpose: The intent of this grant program is to assist organizations in the Upper Peninsula to purchase necessary health-related equipment that will benefit the health and well-being of U.P. residents.
Examples include, but are not limited to equipment that will:

• Address the health technology needs of an organization to improve service delivery
• Improve health-related transportation
• Improve treatment processes for patients or clients
• Improve accessibility
• Assist with health-related program expansion

Equipment grant purchases must align with the mission of Superior Health Foundation. Our goal is for families, neighbors and all residents of the Upper Peninsula to work together to build healthier neighborhoods and improve the quality of life for all residents.
Other factors which may be taken into consideration include:

• Equipment is health-related.

The number of people who will benefit by the purchase of equipment. Equipment is durable and sustainable.The amount of support the project has from other businesses, groups, or individuals. At least two letters of support are required. These letters should be written by people outside of your organization who are potential partners for your project, have experience with similar projects, or can speak to the potential benefit this equipment could have. The letters of support must be relevant to your project and grant application.Presentation to the Committee.

Eligibility

Final selections will depend on available funds and how strongly proposals align with the following criteria (not all may apply): The equipment is health-related Community needs and the number of residents who will benefit from the equipment purchase The long-term durability of the equipment How the equipment purchase will help to improve the capacity of the organizationStudents, neighborhood groups, local clubs, non-profits; anyone within Upper Michigan who wishes to improve the health of UP residents.Students need an adult sponsor.
