Student Travel Grant Program

Purpose: Provides travel grants to dental students to present their research at the Academy's Annual Meeting

Geographic Scope: International (2024 recipients from universities in US, Europe, Asia, and South America)

Eligibility Requirements

• Applicant must be a dental student
• Must submit a research abstract (oral research or e-Poster format)
• Research must be selected for presentation at the AO Annual Meeting

Selection Criteria

• Winning students are selected based on receiving top scores of student-submitted oral research and e-Poster abstracts
• Reviewed by members of the AO Research Submissions and ePoster committees

Award Benefits

• $1,000 travel grant to attend the AO Annual Meeting
• Opportunity to present research at the Academy's Annual Meeting
• Recognition as grant recipient

Application Process

1. Research Abstract Submission
   • Submit a research abstract in either oral research or e-Poster format
   • Abstracts are reviewed by members of the AO Research Submissions and ePoster committees
   • Ensure abstract represents original research suitable for presentation
2. Selection and Notification
   • Top-scoring student-submitted oral research and e-Poster abstracts are selected
   • Selected students are notified of award
3. Award Notification
   • Students who receive top scores are awarded $1,000 Student Travel Grants
   • Opportunity to present research at the AO Annual Meeting is confirmed
