Geographic Scope: Scott and Rock Island counties

Overview:
United Way Quad Cities awarded $2.9 million in grants to 54 local nonprofits, grassroots organizations and others through the Strategic Impact Grants program. These grants are designed to advance equity and improve education, income and health outcomes. The awards covered the first year of a two-year investment period beginning July 1, 2021.

• Nonprofits with 501(c)(3) IRS status
• 170(b)(1)(A) public institutions
• Grassroots organizations (as of 2020)
• Social entrepreneurs
• Organizations serving Scott and Rock Island counties

Application & Review Process:

• Open and competitive grant process
• Applications reviewed by over 100 community volunteers
• Volunteers assess alignment with Rise United goals and performance outcomes
• Recommendations approved by United Way Board of Directors
