Stewardship Mini Grant Program

Overview: New City Parks offers summer Stewardship Mini Grants to empower local community-based organizations to offer structured programming and engage residents in newly renovated parks.

Geographic Scope: Currently operating in Poughkeepsie, NY and Paterson, NJ

Focus Areas:

  • Community programming and events in restored parks

  • Sports clinics and athletic activities (basketball, Double Dutch, etc.)

  • Artistic performances and creative activities

  • Mental health awareness workshops

  • Intergenerational community events

  • Park stewardship and maintenance support

  • Care plans and supplies for park upkeep
  • Program Details:

  • Initiated in 2024 following park renovations

  • In 2025: Funded 8 organizations with 34 events across 3 parks, reaching 900+ attendees

  • In 2024: Funded 33 activities with 800+ participants

  • Support includes critical anchors for new facilities, care plans, supplies (hoses, landscaping equipment)

  • Community Park Ambassador Program provides dedicated community members to maintain park presence
  • Eligibility:

  • Community-based organizations

  • Located in NCP partner cities with renovated parks
