Stephanie Byers-Bell Scholarship Fund

Geographic Scope: Alliant University, with initial focus on Los Angeles campus

Award Amount: At least $4,000 per year when endowment is fully funded; can be doubled through year-end matching (example: $8,000 in 2021-2022)

  • Students of color

  • Research impacting underserved populations

  • Mental health support for vulnerable populations
  • Eligibility: Graduate students of color and/or those conducting research impacting underserved populations

    Purpose: Launched in 2021 to combat systemic racism, social/civil unrest, and inequality. Enables Alliant's doctoral students to conclude their doctoral work with less financial stress.

    Named After: Stephanie Byers-Bell - long-time Alliant University employee and director of campus and student services in Los Angeles, recognized for key roles in developing university campuses as strongholds of multiculturalism and student support.
