Overview
St. Cecilia Music Scholarship
Overview: Vocal music scholarship open to all majors. Provides membership in a creative, contributing community on campus. Students participating in liturgical music ministry are eligible for a scholarship to cover their applied lesson fee.

How to Apply
Audition Criteria
1. Sing two solo pieces or excerpts in contrasting styles:
- Examples: art song and musical theater solo
- Choose from solo repertoire appropriate for your voice type
- Do not use choral pieces
- Each piece/excerpt approximately 2-5 minutes in length
- Accompaniment recommended but not required
2. Sing the following scales:
- Major scale in one octave (use solfege/scale degrees recommended but not required)
- Harmonic minor scale in either La-based or Do-based minor
3. Informal conversation: Meet with music faculty member
Application Process
1. Admitted Students: Apply through the scholarship application on your student status page
2. Complete FAFSA: Send FAFSA to Loras College (Code 001873)
3. Submit Video Audition: Record audition following criteria above
4. Await Contact: Music faculty will contact you to schedule informal conversation about the program
Submission Guidelines
- Submit audition video following scholarship criteria
- Can submit solo pieces/excerpts and scales together or separately
- Name files following instructions provided
- Accompaniment can be included in video but is not required
- Application incomplete until video is submitted
