Fr. Wilkie Liturgical Music Scholarship
Overview: Scholarship that pays applied lesson fees for all instrumentalists and vocalists who participate in liturgical music ministry, regardless of intended major.
Award Amount: Covers applied lesson fees

How to Apply
Instrumental Audition Criteria
1. Play two contrasting solo pieces or excerpts:
- Choose from solo repertoire for your instrument
- Do not use ensemble pieces
- Each piece/excerpt approximately 2-5 minutes in length
- Accompaniment recommended but not required
2. Play the following scales:
- Major scales: F (2 octaves), C (1 octave), G (2 octaves), D-flat (1 octave)
- Harmonic minor scales (1 octave only): d, a, e, and b-flat
- Full-range chromatic scale recommended but not required
3. Informal conversation: Meet with music faculty member
Application Process
1. Admitted Students: Apply through the scholarship application on your student status page
2. Complete FAFSA: Send FAFSA to Loras College (Code 001873)
3. Submit Video Audition: Record audition following criteria above
4. Await Contact: Music faculty will contact you to schedule informal conversation about the program
Submission Guidelines
- Submit audition video following scholarship criteria
- Can submit solo pieces/excerpts and scales together or separately
- Name files following instructions provided
- Accompaniment can be included in video but is not required
- Application incomplete until video is submitted
- Can submit both instrumental and vocal auditions (but can only receive one scholarship)
