Overview

Springboard Fellowship

Program Overview: A two-year fellowship program for young Jewish professionals interested in becoming leaders and changemakers in Jewish life on college campuses. Fellows work with local Hillel campuses across the nation.

Background: Launched by Hillel International in 2016, the Springboard Fellowship is a reimagining of the Steinhardt Jewish Campus Service Corps Fellowship (1994-2008), which trained a generation of emerging Jewish communal leaders through their roles in Jewish student engagement.

Fellowship Details:

  • Duration: 2 years

  • Placement: Local Hillel campuses (70+ campuses participating)

  • Number of Fellows: Multiple cohorts; Vav (Sixth) Cohort included 48-49 fellows

  • Salary: Minimum base salary of $40,000 annually

  • Benefits: Full benefits package

  • Funding: Jointly funded by Hillel International, local Hillel campuses, Beacon and Shapira Foundations, and Mosaic United

      Innovation Fellows

    • Redesign Jewish life on campus
    • Trained in Design Thinking methodology
    • Focus on sparking new ideas and connecting with students
    • Inject creativity into Hillel's work

      Ezra Fellows

    • Bring Jewish learning to life on campus
    • Trained in pluralistic and experiential Jewish educational techniques
    • Infuse Jewish learning into engagement work

      Social Justice Fellows

    • Empower students to make change guided by Jewish values
    • Trained in engagement, social action, and community organizing
    • Weave Judaism into justice work

    Professional Development: Fellows receive professional development training alongside compelling work experience
