Atlanta Israel Gap Year Fellowship

Geographic Scope: Greater Atlanta, Georgia

Program Description: The Atlanta Israel Gap Year Fellowship supports high school graduates from the Atlanta area who are interested in taking a gap year in Israel before attending college. The program provides funding to eligible participants to support their gap year experiences.

Eligibility:

  • Recent high school graduates from the Greater Atlanta area

  • Must be accepted to an approved Masa-certified gap year program in Israel

  • Eligible programs include: Aardvark Israel, Eretz Hatzvi, Israel XP at Bar Ilan University, Kol Ami, Lev HaTorah, Masa Shinshinim IL, Masa Year of Service, Midreshet Harova, Midreshet Lindenbaum, Shalom Hartman Hevruta, Torah Tech, Torah V'Avodah, World Bnei Akiva Kadima Yachad Gap Year, Mechinot, Young Judaea Year Course, Tel Aviv University - ELI, Yeshivat Mevaseret

  • Parents/guardians must complete consent forms

  • Not need-based, but additional financial support from Masa may be available based on household income
  • Selection Criteria:

  • Jewish journey and commitment to Jewish community

  • Leadership potential and capacity to promote Jewish thriving or combat antisemitism and anti-Israel activities on campus

  • Pre-gap year experiences and post-gap year college plans

  • Involvement in Jewish community, youth groups, and educational programs

  • Prior Israel trip experience is beneficial but not required

    4. Parent/Guardian information and consent
    5. Gap year program acceptance letter (if received; otherwise submit upon receipt)
    6. Letter of recommendation addressing leadership skills (max 50 MB)
    7. Parent/Guardian signature and date
