    Application Structure

The Spotlight on Business Award application consists of three main parts:

    1. Eligibility - Answer a few questions about your business to determine if you're eligible to apply

    2. Business Information - Share the basics about your business (name, location, etc.), as well as straightforward questions about your 2024-2025 operations and outcomes

    3. Category Examples - Provide examples of your work that pertain to the category of award you're applying for in order to best represent your business's strengths

    Application Tips

    • Draft Locally First - We recommend reflecting on the questions in a local document and then submitting final answers via the official forms (you cannot save and return to the application later)
    • Strengthen Your Application - A strong application will:
    • - Draw a clear and concise picture of how the business operates - Explain what makes it unique - Describe how it has overcome challenges - Clearly describe your business's relationship with its community, customers, and employees
    • Address Financial Changes - If your sales decreased from 2024 to 2025, be sure to address the figures you reported and outline your business plan or strategies for growth in 2025 and beyond

    Submission Method

    • Submit via official online application form
    • Organizations and trade associations may refer businesses, but the business itself must submit the application to be considered
