Special Circumstances Scholarship - Students with Cancelled Financial Aid

- Matriculated in a KVCC program of study
- Maine resident, eligible for in-state tuition
- Demonstrated unmet financial need (FAFSA methodology)
- Only enrolled in courses required for the KVCC program of study
- Minimum cumulative GPA: 1.9
Eligibility Requirements
- Up to $75 per credit hour enrolled
- Up to $750 per semester
- Awards made available for only one semester
- Based on final course enrollment after add/drop period
- If recipient drops a course, scholarship is reduced
- Adding a course does not guarantee scholarship increase
Award Details
- Approval made on case-by-case basis
- May not be possible due to lack of available funds, lack of student unmet need, and other academic/financial factors
- Once student is determined eligible for Title IV financial aid, they will no longer be funded through this scholarship
- Student must follow academic plan terms and appeal process to be considered for future financial aid eligibility
- Student may apply for emergent need financial assistance if available (federal COVID emergency relief grants and/or KVCC Foundation Emergent Need Scholarship)
