    Eligibility

  • High school seniors planning to attend University of Maine
  • Intended majors: Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Engineering Physics, Forestry, or Mechanical Engineering/Mechanical Engineering Technology
  • Minimum GPA: 3.0 at time of award
  • Top 15% of high school class preferred
  • Combined SAT score >1100 preferred (optional)
  • Must demonstrate interest in pulp and paper industry careers

  • Funded by: 60+ companies in 50 states and 300+ alumni and friends

    Requirements & Conditions

  • Must maintain cumulative GPA ≥3.0
  • Must actively demonstrate interest in pulp and paper/supplier industries through:
  • - Chinn Management Seminars participation - Student organization membership - Co-op job or internship after sophomore year
  • Scholarship will be terminated if student fails to demonstrate continuing interest in paper industry employment

    1. High school transcript - at least through grade 11 (PDF) 2. Letter to Scholarship Committee (PDF) addressing: - How you have become/will become familiar with pulp and paper industry technology and career opportunities - Your interest in engineering and the paper industry - Any additional information supporting your application 3. Contact information: - Student email - Parent/guardian email - Student cell phone 4. Academic information: - Current GPA - Optional SAT scores 5. Personal information: - Full name - Birth date - Gender - Mailing address - High school name and address - High school graduation date - Principal's name 6. Lists of: - Academic honors (national merit, honor society, honor roll, science awards, etc.) - School activities, sports, student organizations (include offices held) - Employment history (summers or during high school) 7. Consent & Releases: - Agreement for Foundation to access academic records - Parent/guardian release (electronic signature required) - Statement of intent regarding paper industry employment

Provide mailing address 6. Answer about "Consider Engineering" program attendance 7. Enter secondary school information 8. List academic honors and school activities 9. Describe employment history 10. Upload high school transcript and SAT results 11. Upload letter to Scholarship Committee 12. Agree to release terms 13. Provide electronic signature (student and parent) 14. Submit form
