Southbury Community Trust Fund Grant

The Southbury Community Trust Fund Grant aims to support programs benefiting Southbury residents through collaboration and partnerships. Priority is given to initiatives in social services, health education, youth development, and community enhancement. Eligible applicants include 501(c)(3) nonprofits and municipal entities. The fund does not support political or religious requests and encourages projects that serve the local community and promote advocacy efforts. This grant fosters community resilience and cultural heritage.

Purpose of Grants
Made possible through the Southbury Community Trust Fund, grants provide support for a variety of programs that benefit Southbury residents. Priority is given to proposals that demonstrate collaboration and strong partnerships.
Possible Projects
Social and Community Services: Support Southbury residents by providing access to basic needs, transportation, and affordable housing.Wellness and Health Education: Promote a healthy, vibrant community by encouraging access to prevention programs, fitness, and access to care for all ages.Enhancement of Youth Development: Foster positive identity, strong values, social competencies, commitment to learning, community service, empowerment, leadership, and resilience for Southbury youth.Aging and Livable Communities: Develop and promote programs that enable older adults to age in place successfully. May include: connecting older adults with benefits and services; reaching people who are underserved; home maintenance, chore, and home safety programs; and building age-friendly communities.Arts and Culture: Promote access to performing arts and fine arts programs for community enrichment.Environmental Awareness: Encourage the preservation, protection, and conservation of land, water, and wildlife.Cultural Heritage: Support Southbury’s tangible cultural heritage and town history.

Eligibility

In order to apply for funding, an organization must:Be a not-for-profit organization recognized under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, or a municipal entity seeking a grant for public purposes. Organizations may also have a nonprofit fiscal sponsor, if they do not have their own nonprofit status.Have a board, representative of the community, of which a majority is neither employees nor relatives of employees.Possess a Nonprofit Registration to Solicit Funds (or exemption, if appropriate) from the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection.
