Overview

Senator Montigny's Children's Fund The Senator Montigny’s Children Fund, in partnership with the SouthCoast Community Foundation and with funding support from the Massachusetts Executive Office of Economic Development, is pleased to announce the launch of a new grant opportunity designed to support youth-serving nonprofit organizations throughout Greater New Bedford with a specific emphasis on providing underserved children with access to the arts, education, culture and recreation. Grants will be awarded in four key categories: Youth Literacy/Education  Arts and Culture  Recreational Opportunities  Capital Projects For program-related requests, grant awards will range from $15,000 to $50,000. For capital requests, grants of $50,000 or more will be considered.

Eligibility

The grant program will provide one-time capital, equipment, and/or programmatic assistance to nonprofit organizations that support financially disadvantaged youth and families in Greater New Bedford defined as New Bedford, Fairhaven, Acushnet, Dartmouth, and Mattapoisett.Organizations may apply in one or more of the key categories listed above. However, each nonprofit can receive only one grant award. A separate application must be submitted for each category in which the nonprofit wishes to be considered.

Ineligibility

The SouthCoast Community Foundation does not make grants to individuals.The SouthCoast Community Foundation is also prohibited from making grants or loans to small businesses. All grants must be used for charitable purposes.
