Overview: The SECU MD Foundation supports Maryland college students pursuing higher education goals through an annual scholarship program. Since inception, over $1.2 million in scholarships have been awarded.

Award Amount: Varies by year; in 2025, 12 students received $10,000 each ($120,000 total)

Focus Areas: Supporting students' educational journey and long-term financial well-being by removing financial barriers to higher education.

Eligibility Requirements

• Be a Maryland resident
• Be a SECU member in good standing (applicants must have their own SECU account)
• Be a current Maryland community college student transferring to a Maryland four-year public college/university, OR have transferred within the past 18 months
• Plan to attend a Maryland four-year public college or university for the 2026-27 academic year
• Not have accepted a SECU MD Foundation scholarship in the past 10 years
• Not be a SECU or SECU MD Foundation employee, director, volunteer, or immediate family member/relative/dependent of such staff

Application Timeline
