Ryan Foundation Grants

The Ryan Foundation, established in 1983, aims to support charitable causes primarily in Fort Worth and Tarrant County, Texas. Grants range from $5,000 to $1,000,000, with a typical grant size around $30,000. Organizations must demonstrate 501(c)(3) status to be eligible. The Foundation prioritizes health care, education, and the arts while specifically excluding individual loans and out-of-state projects. Interested parties should submit a letter of inquiry before full applications.

Our Foundation Board meets 4 times a year in March, June, September and December to consider grant request proposals. Our deadline for submitting a written application is the 1st day of the month preceding the Board Meeting. All grant requests will receive a formal written response specifying the action taken by the Board.For any nonprofit organization that has NOT received previous funding from our foundation, you must first submit a brief one page letter of inquiry before submitting a full grant request.
We do not make grants to individuals.

Eligibility

The Foundation is organized and operated to make gifts, grants and other expenditures in support of charitable, religious, scientific, or educational causes in the State of Texas with a particular emphasis on benefitting such causes in Tarrant County, Texas.Submit a copy of the Internal Revenue Service determination letter indicating a Section 501(c)(3) tax exempt status for the applicant organization
