Organization: Growing Gardens in partnership with Providence Milwaukie Hospital

Program Overview

Rx Gardens expands Spanish-speaking support at Providence Milwaukie Hospital's Garden of Giving and Community Teaching Kitchen. The program encourages connections between health, gardening, and community, using gardening as a preventative healthcare practice. Future goal: doctors will prescribe time in the garden as an official health intervention.

  • Launched: 2022
  • Background: Garden of Giving established in 2010 by hospital nurses; fell into disuse during COVID-19; restored April 2022

Components

#### Gardening Workshops

  • Frequency: Four series of six-week workshops throughout the year
