Ruth Scholarship Grant

The Ruth Scholarship, established by the McPherson County Community Foundation, honors the legacy of Central Kansas women who valued education, family, and community. This scholarship aims to support female graduates of McPherson High School with a minimum GPA of 2.5, who actively participate in school or employment and demonstrate financial need. One $750 scholarship will be awarded to help recipients achieve their educational goals.

In 2001, the McPherson County Community Foundation was established to build charitable endowments and serve donors. We strive to help donors create funds that reflect their charitable goals. Through long-term investment of capital given by individuals, organizations, and corporations, MCCF makes grants to enhance the quality of life in the community. Grants may benefit youth, education, arts and culture, human services, health care, or other charitable purposes as designated by donors.
The McPherson County Community Foundation offers you a way to leave a remembrance of your life, your values, and your family. People give through, not to, the community foundation.
The Ruth’s of this scholarship were all Central Kansans. They became teachers, aspiring journalists, artists, musicians, seamstresses, housewives, mothers, grandmothers, and great grandmothers. They stressed education, good work, and love of family as well as community involvement and faith. It is our hope that this scholarship will enable recipients to realize some of their goals as well.
One (1) $750 scholarship will be awarded.

Eligibility

Person identified as female who will graduate from McPherson High school; GPA of 2.5 or better; active through school-sponsored activities or employment; and a demonstrated need for financial assistance as described in the application narrative.
