Roy & Christine Sturgis Charitable Trust Grant

The Roy & Christine Sturgis Charitable Trust, established in 1981, supports educational, cultural, and health care initiatives in Arkansas and Texas. With a focus on one-year grants, it promotes capital projects, medical research, and endowment campaigns. Organizations in Texas, especially in the Dallas area, receive strong preference. Ineligible applicants include those who have recently received grants from other foundations or multi-year grants, which require a two-year wait before reapplying.

The Roy & Christine Sturgis Charitable Trust was established in 1981 to support and promote quality educational, cultural, human services and health care programming for all people.
In 1933, Roy Sturgis married Texas native Christine Johns.
The majority of grants from the Sturgis Charitable Trust are 1 year in duration. On occasion, multi-year support is awarded. The Sturgis Charitable Trust encourages requests for the following types of grants:

• capital project-relatedmedical researchendowment campaigns

Funding for start-up programs and limited general operating requests will also be considered.

Eligibility

Grants are awarded to qualified charitable organizations in both Arkansas and Texas. Approximately 65% of the Trust's annual distributions are made within the state of Arkansas. The remaining 35% of grants are distributed within the state of Texas.1-year grants: Organizations that receive a grant from the foundations noted below must skip 1 year before submitting a subsequent application. For example, if your organization was awarded a grant in 2022, it would be ineligible to apply until 2024.

Ineligibility

Multi-year grants: Organizations that receive a multi-year grant from the foundations noted below are ineligible to re-apply until 2 years after receiving your last grant installment. For example, if your organization was awarded a 2-year grant in 2022, and last installment was received in 2023, your organization would ineligible to apply until 2025.
