About the Basic Needs Grant
The Basic Needs Grant Fund supports access to food, shelter, healthcare, and clothing for individuals and families in the greater Portsmouth community. Funding is made possible by Rotary Club of Portsmouth, NH fundraising initiatives, including our annual Golf Tournament and Christmas Tree Sale.
Our commitment to meeting essential needs — particularly for children — dates back to the founding of the Portsmouth Rotary Club, which established the “Milk and Shoe Fund.” At each meeting, members contributed a small portion of their lunch fee to this fund as an early effort to support local children.
