About the Helping Professions Grant The Portsmouth Rotary acknowledges the increasing shortage of workers needed in the Seacoast to provide skilled care for family members, friends, and fellow citizens. This support is essential for ensuring a good quality of life in their homes, schools, communities, and facilities. Availability to Caregiver Roles Home-based personal care aides and companions.Behavioral/mental health workers.Volunteers and employees in substance use programs.Rehabilitation and support specialists for individuals with spinal cord or brain injuries.Direct Support professionals for children and adults with developmental/learning disabilities and on the autism spectrum.Teacher’s aides and paraprofessionals.CPSW (Child Protective Service Workers)Grants for GED preparation is also available if high school equivalency is required for any of these roles.
