The Rose Hills Foundation Grant aims to foster a healthier and more equitable Southern California by funding nonprofits that address critical needs in the community. With a focus on education, arts, culture, and human services, the foundation supports organizations that empower at-risk youth and families. By providing essential resources, they strive to enhance the quality of life across Los Angeles County, ensuring that all individuals have access to opportunities that promote growth and well-being.

The Rose Hills Foundation provides grants to the most impactful organizations whose work supports underserved communities across Los Angeles County.
Education
The Foundation is committed to helping organizations that are working to expand access to educational opportunities and ensuring schools have the resources needed to prepare students to thrive in school, work, and life.
Arts, Culture & Community
The Foundation supports a variety of organizations working to ensure access for all to artistic, cultural, and community-based programs. We recognize that many artistic and cultural institutions serve as anchors in our region and support their efforts to enrich and enhance quality of life for generations to come.
At-Risk Youth & Families
The Foundation gives to a wide range of nonprofits working to support our community’s at-risk youth and families.
Human Services
The Foundation supports nonprofits working to uplift those who suffer from poverty, hunger, unemployment, and lack of healthcare to help meet the basic needs of residents within our region.

Eligibility

As a responsive grantmaker, The Rose Hills Foundation supports qualified tax-exempt charitable organizations for the benefit of the people of Southern California with a current emphasis on organizations based in and serving Los Angeles County.A history of achievement, good management, and a stable financial conditionOrganizations that allocate resources effectivelyOrganizations with a diverse range of funding sources and active fundraising activitiesPrograms that are supported by other Southern California-based fundersPrograms consistent with the Foundation’s identified areas of interestPrograms which will benefit people of Southern California, with a focus in Los Angeles CountyOrganizations providing direct serviceOrganizations whose impact can be described clearly and tracked with measurable outcomesOrganizations where 100% of the Board of Directors make a financial contribution to and/or fulfill their give-or-get requirements each year

Ineligibility

From time to time, the Trustees may elect to support non-profit organizations of special interest which are within the Foundation’s broad charter. Grants to large medical institutions, K-12 schools, private, independent colleges and universities in California, Cal State Universities, or other higher education institutions, are initiated by the Trustees. Unsolicited proposals from these types of organizations are not accepted.First-time applicants (i.e., organizations that have not been previously funded by the Foundation) whose budgets do not include at least $1.5 million for L.A.
