Overview

About Us Your Partner in Philanthropy In 2005, community leaders came together with a remarkable vision and commitment to create a local community foundation to connect our communities with resources that would address current and emerging needs and grow the future of Story County. They recognized that we need a foundation that would stand as a pillar of partnership to provide sustainable support for organizations and community wide initiatives, work collaboratively with community partners to instill systematic change and serve our generous neighbors who want to support their communities through charitable giving. These leaders recognized what we still know to be true – when we work together, we can make the most impact to improve the quality of life in Story County. Currently, the foundation holds more than 180 different funds established by individuals, families, and nonprofit agencies to benefit Story County, Iowa. Since its founding in 2005, the foundation has served the needs of this area and the wishes of our donors through personalized service, financial stewardship, local expertise, and community leadership. The Story County Community Foundation does more than simply distributing grants that advance charitable activities. It also identifies current and emerging issues, stimulates resources to address those needs and helps Story County prepare for the future. The Story County Community Foundation has two primary functions: To receive, manage and distribute funds made available by the Iowa County Endowment Fund legislation for the benefit of Story County communities and organizations. To provide a means for donors to make gifts that address the challenges and issues confronting Story County communities and organizations now and in the future. Roger Berger Grant for the Arts Application Roger Berger was passionate about the arts, especially Opera. As part of his legacy, he established a fund to enhance the community’s access to Opera and other cultural programs.
