The Robert Tannahill Travel Scholarship Robert Tannahill was a horticulturist who loved to learn, to travel and to gain experience of different places and cultures, always seeking ways to do things differently. The Foundation is very grateful to Robert’s brother Duncan, and his wife Margaret for their generous legacy in support of other passionate horticulturists. Applications for this award should come from individuals who have a particular interest in putting plants to good use to enhance lives, particularly with a commercial twist. You could be still studying at a recognised horticultural training establishment, or maybe you are now working in a commercial horticultural business, but wish to broaden your knowledge. Perhaps you are looking to travel in the UK or abroad to see and experience plants, learn from their habitat and use, translating this into commercial gain back in the UK through your work in commercial plant production and sales environment.
