Richard L. and Diane M. Block Foundation Grant The Richard L. and Diane M. Block Foundation seeks to enhance the quality of life of Alaska’s people by supporting organizations that align with the Foundation’s primary focus areas: Social Service: work that lifts up the poor so they may permanently and independently share in Alaska's bounty. Arts and Culture: work that inspires the community intellectually and artistically. Youth Empowerment: work that empowers the young to lead and power Alaska’s future. The Foundation also supports funds affiliated with the First Church of Christ, Scientist, Boston, Massachusetts, and programs affiliated with Christian Science in Alaska and elsewhere.

Eligibility

We would welcome requests for grants that are operational but directed at programs that address causes and we would welcome requests for project or capital grants that will help start or boost a project that is aimed at underlying causes. To be eligible for grant funding, organizations must be:A 501(c)3 non-profit in good standing.Based in the State of Alaska for at least 5 years, or have a branch or program based in the State of Alaska that is the primary beneficiary of the grant.

Ineligibility

The Foundation does not make grants to organizations that: Redistribute funds to other nonprofit organizations. Engage in the delivery of medical services or medical or pharmaceutical education and research.The distributee organization must not have received a grant for capital projects in any of the preceding five (5) years. Applicants can still qualify for operational grants during that 5 year period, but are not eligible for project grants.
