Overview
There is an urgent need to expand the rheumatology workforce, including physicians, physician-scientists, research scientists and other professionals. As part of our Choose Rheumatology program, the Foundation encourages students and residents to explore a career in rheumatology. The purpose of this scholarship is to expose undergraduate students, or those in post-baccalaureate training, to rheumatology research and medicine by supporting their in-person attendance at the premier rheumatology meeting.
Recipients of the scholarship will have the ability to attend ACR Convergence 2025, the world’s premier rheumatology experience. Participation at this meeting will introduce recipients to the specialty of rheumatology and rheumatology-related health care in order to better serve patients with rheumatic and musculoskeletal diseases. Awardees will be invited to attend several invite-only networking and learning opportunities with other students and residents, as well as leaders in the rheumatology community. This includes:
* Invitation to the Foundation’s award recipient’s luncheon.
* Attendance at an exclusive half-day Choose Rheumatology event (see below).
