Recognition Scholarships

Scholarships established through minimum contributions from sponsoring groups and the ZTA Foundation, which can be designated for specific chapters, provinces, or areas and named in honor or memory of special Zetas.

Award Details:

• Minimum total scholarship: $2,500
  • Minimum $2,000 from sponsoring group
  • $500 from Zeta Tau Alpha Foundation
• Can be designated for specific chapters, provinces or areas
• Can be named in honor or in memory of a special Zeta
• Funding comes from annual contributions to General Scholarship Fund plus donor contributions

For Donors/Sponsors:

• Minimum donation required: $2,000
• Complete Recognition Scholarship Commitment form (available on Z-Learning)
• Designate scholarship name and preferred criteria (chapter, major, etc.)
• Provide information about honoree (if applicable)

For Applicants:

• Must meet all general ZTA scholarship eligibility requirements:
  • Member of Zeta Tau Alpha Fraternity in good standing
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Current sophomore, junior, senior or graduate student
  • Full-time enrollment for fall and spring semesters

Recognition Scholarship Application

For Applicants: Apply through the ZTA Foundation Scholarship application process (see main scholarship program for detailed steps)

• Complete online application through SmarterSelect
• Provide unofficial transcript
• Secure one recommendation
• Submit all materials by February 27, 11:59 p.m. PT

For Donors/Sponsors Creating a Scholarship:

1. Contact the ZTA Foundation
2. Complete Recognition Scholarship Commitment Form (available on Z-Learning)
3. Provide minimum donation of $2,000
4. Designate scholarship name and preferred criteria (chapter, major, etc.)
5. ZTA Foundation will contribute $500 for total of at least $2,500

Scholarship Criteria: Can specify preferred recipients such as:

• Specific ZTA chapter
• Specific province
• Specific geographic area
• Specific major or field of study
• Honor or memory of designated person
