Endowed Scholarships

Overview: Long-term scholarships established by individuals and/or chapters, generally given in honor or in memory of special Zetas. Awards are based on yearly interest generated by the endowed funds.

Award Details:

  • Set up by individual and/or chapter

  • Generally given in honor or in memory of a special Zeta

  • Minimum donation for creation: $50,000 (given over three years)

  • Scholarship amounts vary based on yearly interest generated by endowed funds

  • Awarded each year based on return rate averages over rolling five-year period

  • Perpetual funding mechanism ensures sustainability

    • For Donors/Sponsors:

  • Minimum commitment: $50,000 over three years

  • You may name the scholarship and provide preferred criteria (chapter, major, etc.)

  • Scholarships continue in perpetuity

    • For Applicants:

  • Must meet all general ZTA scholarship eligibility requirements:

    • - Member of Zeta Tau Alpha Fraternity in good standing
    - Minimum GPA of 3.0
    - Current sophomore, junior, senior or graduate student
    - Full-time enrollment

  • Secure one recommendation

  • Submit all materials by February 27, 11:59 p.m. PT

    • For Donors/Sponsors Creating an Endowed Scholarship:
    1. Contact the ZTA Foundation for detailed information
    2. Make minimum commitment of $50,000 over three years
    3. Name the scholarship
    4. Provide preferred criteria (chapter, major, field of study, etc.)
    5. Designate if scholarship is in honor or memory of someone

    Scholarship Distribution:

  • Awarded annually based on yearly interest generated by endowed funds

  • Amount varies by fund size and investment returns

  • Based on return rate averages over rolling five-year period

  • Continues in perpetuity
