We contribute through grants and scholarships fueled by you, helping nonprofits further and strengthen their mission, and providing leadership for key community issues. Since 1964, the Area Foundation has distributed millions in grants and scholarships to educate youth, preserve the environment, protect animals, fund research and provide services that enhance the quality of life for people living in and around San Antonio. Who Can Apply:Current High School Senior furthering their educationCurrent college student seeking a Bachelor's DegreeCurrent college student seeking an Associate's Degree or Technical/ Vocational Certificate or Degree Application Criteria:A graduating high school senior or currently enrolled in an undergraduate program Plans to attend or attends a two- or four-year accredited college, university, or vocational/technical school in the United States Maintain a minimum 2.5 GPA and attend school full-time Must live in counties listed by the time of application: Texas counties served by WellMed include: Aransas, Atascosa, Bastrop, Bexar, Brazoria, Burnet, Cameron, Collin, Comal, Dallas (Dallas, TX), Dallas (Rio Grande Valley, TX), Denton, Ellis, El Paso, Fort Bend, Guadalupe, Harris, Hays, Hidalgo, Hood, Jefferson, Jim Wells, Johnson, Kaufman, Kendall, Kleberg, Navarro, Nueces, Parker, Rockwall, San Patricio, Starr, Tarrant, Travis, Victoria, Webb, Williamson, or Wilson Florida counties served by WellMed include: Broward, Collier, Duval (Northeast Florida), Duval (Southwest Florida), Hernando, Hillsborough (Orlando, FL), Hillsborough (Tampa, FL), Indian River, Lake, Lee (Southwest Florida), Lee (Tampa, FL), Manatee (Southwest Florida), Manatee (Tampa, FL), Marion, Martin, Miami-Dade, Orange, Osceola, Pasco, Pinellas, Polk (Orlando, FL), Polk (Tampa, FL), Saint Lucie, Seminole, Sumter, or Volusia Financial need will be considered but is not the sole determining factor Renewable Criteria:Cumulative GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale Full-time enrollment Continuous enrollment in any accredited U.S. college, university, or technical/vocational school
