Rapid Response Grants

The Alaska Conservation Foundation's Rapid Response Grants support immediate conservation actions to tackle unforeseen environmental opportunities or threats. These grants aim to enhance environmental policies and protection efforts across Alaska, ensuring sustainable development and stronger regulations. By fostering conservation philanthropy and directing resources to key initiatives, ACF envisions a thriving, diverse, and well-protected Alaskan environment. The ongoing application process allows for swift responses to urgent conservation needs.

Alaska Conservation Foundation’s (ACF) Rapid Response grants provide support for direct conservation action to address unforeseen opportunities or threats of statewide or national significance, leading to more robust environmental policy and enduring conservation impact.
The Rapid Response Program accepts Letters of Inquiry on an ongoing basis through ACF’s online application system.Rapid Response grants support activities that result in:
Reduction in destructive environmental activitiesMore favorable laws and policies for the environmentStronger regulation of these policies and enforcement of these laws Stronger environmental protections in place; and/or More sustainable economic development or activities

Eligibility

Applicants for Rapid Response grants must meet the following criteria:Be a non-profit organization engaged in Alaska conservation advocacyBe based in Alaska, or have an Alaska-based programMeet the criteria of addressing an urgent or unforeseen opportunity or threatIf a current ACF grantee, be in good standing with required grant reports

Ineligibility

The following activities/costs are not eligible for Rapid Response grants:Operating expenses, including existing staff salariesEducation programs or scholarshipsEquipment, land acquisition, or researchCapital campaignsLiterary and/or film projectsFees to attend conferencesProjects outside of Alaska
