Putney School Summer Arts

A boarding summer school program offered by Putney School (since 1988) for Shinnyo-en youth to explore various art forms and apply their creative passion to cultivate a more harmonious and peaceful world. Foundation sponsors a small number of talented Shinnyo-en youth annually.

Location: Vermont (residential/boarding program)

Duration: Four weeks (intensive program)

Age/Grade Requirements: Ages 14-17 or currently in 8th-11th grade

Program Structure:

• Students select two disciplines to focus on
• Morning and afternoon workshops
• Designed for all levels of experience
• Focus on each student's individual interests and trajectory
• Professional instruction in selected disciplines
• Students create rich work for their creative portfolios

1. Contact your Temple Manager or local YA (Youth Association) chief/sub-chief
2. Inquire about selection and application process
3. Must be ages 14-17 or in grades 8-11
4. Should demonstrate talent and passion for the arts
