Overview

Preschool Scholarship Program

Overview: United Way of Mower County has provided the Preschool Scholarship Program since 2007 to lessen financial barriers for students receiving early education.

Purpose: To prepare children for bright futures and excellence in the classroom by providing access to quality preschool.

Target Population: 4-year-olds who will be attending kindergarten and are planning to enroll or are currently enrolled in a Kindergarten Prep Program through Mower County preschools.

Program Approach:

  • Works in partnership with local organizations and schools

  • Part of the Success by 6 initiative

  • Brings community partners together to best serve children and families
  • Focus:

  • Sets the stage for long-term success

  • Helps children enter kindergarten with basic skills and strong foundation

  • Children with early intervention more likely to excel and achieve full potential
  • Geographic Scope: Mower County, Minnesota

    Application Process

    Applications are submitted through local Mower County preschools offering Kindergarten Prep Programs.

    Eligibility Requirements:

  • Child must be 4 years old

  • Child must be planning to attend kindergarten

  • Child must be planning to enroll or currently enrolled in a Kindergarten Prep Program through a Mower County preschool
  • Scope: All Mower County preschools with Kindergarten Prep Programs participate
