Overview

Phát Triển Tốt Small Business Incubation Program

Overview: A three-month mentorship program of Friends of Little Sài Gòn to develop small businesses, artists, and cultural workers. Mentees receive vital resources and connections to grow their business through mentorship from established small business owners from the Little Saigon neighborhood through a focused curriculum.

Program Duration: 11 weeks (July 6 - September 21, 2026) Orientation: June 29, 2026 (1 hour, mandatory) Location: Little Saigon Creative, 1227 S. Weller St. Suite A, Seattle, WA 98144 Program Name Meaning: "Phát Triển Tốt" means "positive development" in Vietnamese

    Benefits & Support

    Participants receive:
  • Up to 10 hours of one-on-one mentorship from an established small business owner or artist from the community
  • Five workshop training opportunities including: marketing, financial, legal, and commercial space assistance
  • $1,000 small business equipment and supply stipend
  • One hour with a professional photographer to provide digital assets for marketing
  • Permit reimbursements for vending in Little Saigon
  • Opportunity to showcase at Celebrate Little Saigon annual summer festival and Fall Meet the Maker small business spotlight event
  • Access to additional small business support resources and networking opportunities

    Eligibility Criteria

  • Age: Participants must be over 18 years old
  • Business License: Must have an active City of Seattle business license or be in the process of acquiring one
  • Time Commitment: Must commit at least 2 hours per week of work and meeting time

    Program Mentors

  • Bảo Nguyễn - Operates Phin cafe and co-operates Dragonfly, a Vietnamese waffle mix producer
  • Sophia Trịnh - Artist and designer with over a decade of corporate and creative experience
  • Minh Carrico - Artist, educator, photographer, and co-founder of cooperative art gallery
  • Hong Chhuor - Owner and operator of King Donuts in Rainier Beach; business administration and marketing expertise

How to Apply

1. Complete the application form (link provided on program website)

2. Application Deadline: Friday, April 24, 2026, at 11:59 PM PST

3. Prepare Required Materials Before Applying:
- Business Plan (Required): A draft of your business plan. If you do not currently have one, examples are available on the program website. Maximum 10 pages, single-spaced.
- Marketing Materials (Required): 3-5 photos of your products/services, plus logo and description of products/services
- Profit & Loss Statement (Optional): For the period January 1, 2025 to January 1, 2026

Selection Criteria

Note: Businesses further along in their development will be prioritized for this program.

    Program Time Commitment

  • Orientation: June 29, 2026 (1 hour, mandatory attendance)
  • Program Duration: July 6 - September 21, 2026 (11 weeks)
  • Weekly Commitment: Minimum 2 hours per week of work and meeting time
  • Training Workshops: In-person at Little Saigon Creative in the evening (dates TBD)
