PCEN Grant Funding
Funder: Saint John Henry Newman Institute (SJHNI)
Geographic Scope: Available to members of the Perennial Catholic Education Network (PCEN)
Purpose: Grant funding to help schools deepen Catholic identity, enrich educational programming, and position for lasting growth.
Areas of Excellence (Six Pillars)
Grants support growth across the following categories:
- Catholic Culture: Affirming each child's eternal dignity in Christ, fostering communion of faith through liturgy and daily life, and forming missionary witnesses in virtue and service
- Governance: Ensuring ordered authority, fidelity to Catholic identity, and leadership that builds trust, cooperation, and stewardship
- Sustainability: Strengthening finances, facilities, advancement, and organizational improvement to sustain the mission
- Formation: Providing spiritual, intellectual, and parental formation rooted in prayer, wisdom, and partnership with families
- Pedagogy: Advancing perennial Catholic pedagogy through clear instructional frameworks, coaching, and a culture of inquiry and mastery
- Curriculum: Ordering learning around the soul's formation, the Liberal Arts tradition, and a curriculum with clarity, coherence, and Catholic content

How to Apply
Application Process
SJHNI follows a three-step process to extend funding:
1. Submission: PCEN schools submit proposals aligned with the Areas of Excellence
2. Review: Proposals are carefully evaluated for mission fit, impact, and sustainability
3. Agreement: Selected applicants enter into partnership agreements that support accountability and success
