Overview

Pathways to Careers (P2C) Program

Overview: For students accepted to IUPUI, Ivy Tech Indianapolis, or Marian University. ILI will provide support services, professional and academic guidance, and activities created to foster success for participants throughout their higher education.

Geographic Scope: Indiana (specific institutions: IUPUI, Ivy Tech Indianapolis, or Marian University)

Award Amount: Up to $9,000 in scholarships through all 4 years in the program if all hours are completed

Program Details:

  • Two-year part-time employment positions

  • 775 hours of work over two years, including summers

  • Paid professional development and mentoring

  • Individualized college coaching and support services

  • Networking with mentors and professionals

  • Opportunity to work on college access and student support initiatives
  • Focus Areas:
    1. Increasing the number of Latino high school graduates going to college
    2. Supporting college students through completion of their college career
    3. Preparing students for their career of choice

    Eligibility Requirements:

  • Admitted or current student at IUPUI, Ivy Tech Indianapolis, or Marian University

  • Preference given to:

  • - Students planning to enroll in 9 or more credit hours
    - First-year students
    - Graduates from Marion County high schools
  • Ability to commit to working 775 hours over two years, including summers

  • Good communication skills for writing documents and presenting in front of groups

  • Demonstrated volunteer or paid experience working with peers (such as student club member, athlete on a team, retail job, youth organizer at a faith community, or other work)

  • Understanding of Latino culture and issues, including factors affecting student aspirations to attend college

  • All students considered regardless of citizenship/immigration status

  • Must present proof of vaccination against COVID-19
  • Current Status: 2024 applications are now closed. Applications for the 2025-2026 Pathways to Careers cohort will be available soon.
