Partnerships for Local Agriculture & Nutrition Transformation in Schools (PLANTS)

Program Overview: PLANTS is a sub-grant program that funds projects led by groups of local partners advancing systemic and equity-driven approaches to transforming school food supply chains.

Funding: USDA Food & Nutrition Service Healthy Meals Incentives Initiative

Administration: Administered by Chef Ann Foundation in partnership with Kitchen Sync Strategies Collaborative, Center for Nutrition and Health Impact, and National Farm to School Network

Focus Areas:

• Building and strengthening relationships among community-based food system stakeholders and school districts
• Expanding scratch cooking in schools
• Building more nourishing school meal programs
• Increasing access to values-aligned foods
• Systemic and equity-driven approaches to transforming school food supply chains

Eligible Applicants: Groups of local partners (community-based organizations, food system stakeholders, school districts)
