Overview: Nonprofit 501(c)(3) organizations competing in the San Francisco Pride Parade have the opportunity to win cash prizes for their float presentations. The competition celebrates creativity, spirit, and community expression on Market Street.

    Eligibility

  • Tax Status: Must be a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization
  • Registration: Contingent must be registered to compete
  • Parade Participation: Must march/participate in the 56th Annual SF Pride Parade (June 28, 2026)

Award Categories (Historical Examples)

For 2026, official categories are being finalized in partnership between SF Pride and the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence. Historical categories that may apply:
  • Most Fabulous - Contingents with great emotional content, message, or outstanding presentation
  • Most Outrageous - Contingents with unexpected, over-the-top, brilliant, and/or unique presentations
  • AbFab Marching - Outstanding contingents with 2+ people marching with exceptional coordination and energy
  • AbFab Musical - Outstanding contingents with live music, chorus, or music as central element
  • AbFab Themed - Contingents best incorporating official theme "Resistance in Action!"
  • AbFab Sponsor - Recognition for corporate partner with outstanding creative expression of community support
  • Best Overall Parade Contingent - "Best of the best" determined by public community poll following parade (voting details announced post-parade)

    Judging

  • Panel of Pride Judges: SF Pride collaborates with Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence to convene panel
  • Judging Process: Panel witnesses every person in parade and awards ribbons from Market Street grandstands
  • Best Overall: Determined by public community poll after parade

Parade Float Competition Participation

#### Steps to Compete
1. Register your parade contingent/float - Submit parade participation registration
2. Develop creative presentation - Plan float or contingent presentation aligned with "Resistance in Action!" theme

4. Bring your best energy - Participate enthusiastically on June 28, 2026
5. Be judged - Panel of Pride Judges will evaluate contingents from Market Street grandstands and award ribbons
