PalmettoPride Litter Task Force Grant

Overview: Grant program providing funds and support to counties to establish dedicated litter and code enforcement positions.

Eligible Applicants:

  • Counties and Sheriff's Departments in counties without a designated full-time code or litter control officer
  • Focus Areas/Eligible Uses:

  • Salary and overtime pay for dedicated litter control enforcement officers

  • Equipment needs for litter and illegal dumping cases

  • Focus on litter and illegal dumping enforcement
  • Key Details:

  • Award period: 2 years

  • Maximum: $40,000 over 2-year period

  • PalmettoPride provides additional support including:

  • - Assistance with camera loan program
    - Staffing assistance through Enforcement Program Manager and Constable Scott Morgan
  • Agencies responsible for: all insurance and equipment needed by officer

  • Geographic scope: South Carolina

  • Example: Dillon County awarded grant (March 2021)
