Litter Enforcement Grant

The Litter Enforcement Grant, funded by PalmettoPride, has been pivotal in South Carolina for 20 years, providing up to $5,000 for equipment and resources to support litter control efforts. This competitive grant encourages law enforcement and code enforcement agencies to actively engage in litter prevention initiatives, bolstered by community support. Priority is given to groups without recent funding and those collaborating with volunteer organizations focused on litter reduction and beautification.

Fighting Litter for 20 Years
Our primary goal is to engage citizens to take responsibility for litter prevention, but our experience has taught us that we need our elected officials to support our initiatives, support litter-pickup infrastructure, and support law enforcement efforts.
Levels of Funding:
The Enforcement Grant is a competitive grant that provides litter control and enforcement agencies with up to $5000 for the purchase of equipment and resources for use in litter control cases. It is funding for law enforcement agencies to help enforce state and local litter laws.

Eligibility

Litter control, law enforcement and code enforcement departments/organizations in South Carolina are eligible to apply for these funds. No organization will be awarded more than one Litter Enforcement Grant per funding cycle. Joint projects are only eligible for one grant award.Eligible grant activities may include any combination of the following:Equipment (i.e. surveillance cameras, laptops, binoculars)
Heavy duty or OSHA materials for litter removal
Supplies for large on-going litter cleanups (i.e. monthly cleanups, assign-a-highway, community service)

Ineligibility

Prior grant recipients who are not in compliance with grant requirements will be deemed ineligible to receive funds.No organization will be awarded more than one Litter Prevention Grant per funding cycle. Joint projects are also only eligible for one grant award.
