Funder: Oregon Skating Council Inc (OSC)
Geographic Scope: Oregon, plus areas of Washington, California, and Nevada regionally connected to ice sports activities in Oregon

Grant Types

General Grants

  • Up to $1,500

  • No profit-sharing requirement
  • Seed Grants

  • For competitions and special projects

  • Condition: 30% of net profits (minus $1,500) must be returned to OSC

  • Must be pre-approved by OSC Board of Directors before funds are disbursed
  • Eligibility

    • Applicants: OSC member clubs
    • Purpose: Projects open to members of any OSC club
    • Not eligible for: Annual budgeted club operating expenses; individual skater funding

    Fundable Activities

    OSC has historically funded:

  • Support for startup Dance and Synchro programs

  • Regional and sectional competitions in Oregon

  • Judges training and travel reimbursements

  • Skater Development Seminars (on- and off-ice)

  • US Figure Skating programs such as S.T.A.R.S.

  • Dance Seminars

  • Theater on Ice startup

  • Synchro team startup

  • Shows, performances and special events

  • Judges Schools
  • Key Policies

    • No retroactive grants - applications must be made before project completion
    • Typed proposals only - no handwritten submissions
    • Missing information: Applications with missing required information will not be accepted
    • Payment timing: Generally paid after OSC receives final project report (exception: Seed Grants may be pre-approved)
    • Post-project requirement: Follow-up report with financial information due within 60 days of project completion for Seed Grants

    How to Apply

    OSC Grant Application Process

    Three-Part Application Required:

    #### Part One: OSC Online Grant Application

  • Complete the online application form

  • Select grant type (General or Seed)
  • #### Part Two: Written Grant Proposal (Maximum 2 Pages)

    Email typed proposal to: president@oregonskating.org

    Include the following:

    1. Purpose of Funding Request:
    a. Target population and number of individuals that will benefit
    b. What you hope to accomplish (purpose, benefits, goals, and outcomes)
    c. Specific activities planned (may include off-ice activities, training, timelines)

    2. Leadership and Partnerships:
    - Names and brief description of roles and responsibilities of leaders, volunteers, and/or partners on this project

    #### Part Three: Required Supporting Documents

    Submit with application:
    1. Project budget
    2. Minutes of club board meeting approving the request (if appropriate)
    3. Announcements or brochures (if available)
    4. Email supporting documents to: president@oregonskating.org

    #### Post-Project Requirements (Due within 60 days of completion)

    1. Summary of project outcome, including number of individuals who benefitted
    2. For Seed Grants only: Financial report showing profit/loss
    - Calculate amount owed to OSC (30% of net profit after grant)
    - If grant was not previously paid, OSC Treasurer will offset grant amount against amount owed
    - OSC will pay net amount to club
