Overview

The Ordoñez Family Scholarship The purpose of the Ordoñez Family Scholarship Fund is to assist students who are graduates of any Detroit Public School, or tax- exempt charter or private high school located in southwest Detroit. Applicants must be a resident of southwest Detroit during the entire time the applicant attended high school. One renewable scholarship of $1,250 (renewable for up to four years, for a total value of $5,000) will be awarded. The Ordoñez Family Scholarship is renewable. Students must reapply for scholarship consideration using the renewal application provided by the Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan. Recipients are required to maintain a minimum grade point average of 2.5 or higher (4.0 scale) while attending college or university. Renewal is not assured.
