We convene partners to solve regional challenges and serve as a trusted philanthropic advisor for donors who want to do good. Hellen Tallman Fund The purpose of the Helen Tallman Scholarship is to provide educational scholarship support to engineering and medical or pre-medical students at Wayne State University. Background As the last member of her family line, Helen Tallman established a fund at the Community Foundation to live out her family’s legacy. The Tallman family owned an antique store on the east side. A successful business, they were always committed to taking a portion of their earnings and giving back. One of Helen’s interests was education, which led her to direct a portion of the permanent fund’s assets each year to support students at Wayne State University.
