Overview

Office of Cannabis Management (OCM) - Grants

The Office of Cannabis Management (OCM) Division of Social Equity oversees two grant programs; Can Renew Community Restoration Grants and CanGrow Farmer Loan and Training Grants.

CanRenew Community Restoration Grant funds a variety of organizations that demonstrate previous experience making investments in eligible communities to impact economic development, violence prevention, reentry services, social determinants of health, and youth intervention. The program prioritizes investment in communities disproportionately affected by past cannabis prohibition and programs which demonstrate community support, target youth civic engagement, and engage youth in health.

CanGrow Farmer Loan Grant provides a revolving loan fund to nonprofit organizations that issue low-interest, forgivable loans to farmers. These loans help cover business expenses related to entering the legal cannabis industry and aim to reduce market entry barriers.

CanGrow Farmer Training Grant provides training and education to farmers interested in entering Minnesota’s legal cannabis industry. The program equips participants with the knowledge and skills needed to succeed in a regulated market.
