Funder: Old Dominion Boat Club Foundation

Geographic Scope: Alexandria, VA area with focus on Potomac River nexus; Commonwealth of Virginia

Mission: The ODBC Foundation is organized exclusively for charitable and educational purposes.

Funding Focus Areas

Grants must specifically relate to one or more of the following:

• Promoting boating and the boating community with a focus on local youth rowing programs
• Maritime-related charitable and educational organizations in the Alexandria, VA area with a nexus to the Potomac River
• Organizations that promote the history, culture, or environment of the City of Alexandria or Commonwealth of Virginia
• Support for other charitable, community, cultural, and educational activities undertaken by the ODBC and ODBC Foundation

Eligibility Requirements

• Organization Type: Must qualify as exempt organizations under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code

What They Don't Fund

• Grant awards cannot be used to cover administrative expenses

Funding Mechanism

Through ongoing fundraising, special events, and annual appeals, the ODBC Foundation accepts pass-through charitable contributions in its name for nonprofit organizations, programs, and educational activities that foster the mission of the ODBC and ODBC Foundation.

Decision Authority

The OBDC Foundation has sole authority and discretion to make grants from the fund.
